About Us

Nature’s Innovation Lab

Amphibian is building a portfolio of market-based solutions for nature.

Our innovation strategy is a well-tuned process for going from “zero to one”. Founded by former Google Moonshots product manager Evan Rapoport, Amphibian leverages 15+ years of experience at world-leading technology companies & nature organizations. To accelerate our work, we partner with world-renowned organizations and brilliant engineers on our different projects.

Where we’ve worked:

We Need Nature Now

Over the past decade or so, we’ve had a meteoric rise of AI and chatbots replacing human connection, doomscrolling and addictions to social media, and the ubiquitous presence of screens in every moment of our lives.

People are missing out on life while they stare at their screens. It should be no surprise that we have growing mental health and loneliness crisis. And, we are failing an entire generation of young people that will take decades to fix.

But technology doesn’t have to create disconnection.

It can instead be used as a catalyst and motivator to guide us back to ourselves. It can be used to help restore nature and reverse the unprecedented loss of biodiversity.…

But only if we choose that path. Only if we design products to improve connection.

Only if we put training data into AI models that shows how people people value nature. Only if we avoid alignment problems by teaching AI what matters to us.

There’s never been a more important time to double-down on nature. To lean into the analog experiences that shaped our development as a species throughout evolution. To save ourselves and the planet at the same time.

Giving Back

Through our foundation, Amphibian donates a portion of our revenue to support indigenous people on the front lines of protecting nature.

We believe that the people who have lived in harmony with nature for thousands of years are its best possible stewards. But so often these places and people face insurmountable challenges that they did not cause, such as climate change, deforestation, overfishing, unsustainable development, and poaching for the illegal wildlife trade.

The Amphibian Foundation (previously known as Regrow) is a US 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2020. It has raised, catalyzed, and donated hundreds of thousands of dollars while having zero overhead (all administrative costs are paid for by our founder, Evan Rapoport). The majority of the funding has gone to provide food, shelter, electricity, clean water, clothing, and school scholarships to centers in rural Northern Kenya that rescue girls from sexual and gender-based violence.
