Amphibian is a small team working hard on a wildly ambitious mission.
Founded by Evan Rapoport in 2024 after a long career at Google and at leading conservation organizations, we are a Public Benefit Corporation that advances market-based solutions towards “moonshot” level impact, both for humanity and nature.
Evan Rapoport
Evan is a nature-lover and expert at building mission-driven portfolios, teams, and companies. He founded numerous products and programs that have received many millions in follow-on funding.
He was the lead for the Google Brain Moonshots Program to invest in AI research projects (LLMs, remote sensing, bioacoustics, etc.). At Google X, he founded the Tidal moonshot (AI for aquaculture). He was the founding CEO of Oceankind (principal Lucy Page), building a successful $10M+ portfolio of investments and grants. Following his love for protecting nature, he became the Senior Technology Fellow at Conservation International. Earlier in his career at Google, he founded and launched many products in Maps, Android, & Photos.
Evan speaks regularly on “Moonshot Thinking” with mission-driven organizations, advises and invests in startups, mentored classes at Stanford, led a workshop at the United Nations, and coaches people through career and life transitions towards work on nature and climate.
